Eeling ...
Lonely and disconnected from her human relationship, a woman turns to the
natural world, where she finds unexpected solace in the company of the keepers
of the river: eels. The profound connection deepens into a love affair while
her husband’s resentment manifests in brutality: the killing of eels. The
intensity of her otherworldly experience captivates the woman’s psyche and she
chooses to join her eel-lovers in the river.
An award winning screenplay (Moondance Film Festival, best short screenplay, 2008), Eeling has played at the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival & the New Zealand International Film Festival (2011); Palm Springs Film Festival & the Guanajuato Film Festival (2012). |
